Wohlfahrt Haus & COVID-19

Updated November 14th, 2020

As we operate in these uncharted times, we are committed to upholding operational guidelines laid out by our Governor to ensure the health and safety of our patrons and our employees. This includes increased cleaning and sanitation measures, social distancing, and wearing masks.

As of November 13th, 2020, Governor Northam restricted the sizes of gatherings in the state of Virginia to 25 people. However, performance venues and restaurants are not subject to this ruling and have their own set of guidelines that must be followed. We are required to operate at 30% capacity and increase our social distancing to 10 feet as singing is involved in the entertainment provided.

To support this, we have made some adjustments to our traditional operations to ensure we stay aligned with said guidelines.

We have shortened the length of dinner from 2 hours to an hour and a half by moving up the performance time by a half hour. When making your travel plans, please plan to arrive within the first 45 minutes of dinner service. This will ensure that your server (who may also be performing for you) can give you safe and proper service before the show. The new time schedule is as follows:

Tuesday - Saturday Matinees: 12pm Dinner, 1:30pm Show
Sunday Matinees: 1pm Dinner, 2:30pm Show
Friday and Saturday Evenings: 6pm Dinner, 7:30pm Show

In compliance with the statewide mandate of wearing masks in indoor, public spaces, we are asking that all patrons wear a mask upon arrival and departure of the theatre, in the lobby, bathrooms, and most importantly, DURING the show. Once you are at your table with your party, you may take off your masks to eat and drink during dinner and dessert. However, once the performance starts, all patrons are required to wear masks that cover both your  nose and your mouth for the duration of the performance. This is for the safety of our performers and your fellow patrons. Our employees are required to wear masks at all times for safety of our patrons and themselves.

To comply with regulations set out on November 13th, 2020 and social distancing measures, we will be operating performances at 30% capacity. This paired with seating specific tables/areas of the theatre will ensure we can bring our patrons live theatre again while keeping them at a safe distance from other patrons and the actors. We have also removed tables to add space between parties.

We are excited to bring joy into the lives of our patrons and community during this continuously difficult and uncertain time with live theatre. We hope you will join us in making these performances safe, comfortable, and fun for all involved!
