Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre

Tucked into the rolling foothills of Southwest Virginia’s Appalachians, Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre is a true family affair. What began in 1999 as Peggy Sutphin’s dream—a place where great food and live performance share the same spotlight—continues today under the care of Drs. Amanda Brewer-Lord and Stephen Lord. Inspired by the Sutphins’ German roots, “the Haus” blends Old‑World charm with down‑home hospitality, staging everything from high‑energy musicals and laugh‑out‑loud comedies to intimate concerts and special events.

Every ticket includes our signature four‑course meal, prepared fresh in‑house and delivered to your table by a waitstaff that treats you like kin. It’s dinner and a show, crafted start to finish under one roof, so you can relax, settle in, and let the curtain rise. Peggy always said that Wohlfahrt Haus was a family first and a theatre second, and we still live by those words. When you’re at the Haus, you’re home.

Theater Food

At Wohlfahrt Haus, dinner isn’t just something you eat before the show—it’s part of the experience. Each night features a four-course meal prepared in-house, with comforting classics, fresh salads, satisfying entrées, and desserts that feel like the perfect ending. It’s the kind of food that’s warm, familiar, and made with care—the kind you’d happily come back for even without a show. Have a dietary need? Just give us a heads up, and our chef will make it work. The stage sets the story, but your table sets the mood—so relax, enjoy, and let a great meal lead you into the performance.
